Choosing a wedding photographer is a very personal decision. It isn’t only about liking the photographs, it’s about feeling comfortable with the person who will be with you during some of the most meaningful moments of your day. Many of my couples tell me they were nervous about being photographed or unsure how they would feel in front of the camera, and they were so glad that they chose a photographer with many years experience of photographing nervous couples and relieved at how relaxed and easy the experience felt.

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to receive several industry awards for my wedding photography, which is always lovely recognition. I’ve never photographed weddings with competitions in mind and I don’t tend to enter awards these days, but I appreciate that for some couples it’s reassuring to know that my work has been recognised beyond my website and portfolio.
For me, the real reward has always been the feedback that comes from my couples and their families when they tell me how they love their photographs and how meaningful they have become as time passes. Awards are nice, but it’s the reactions from couples and their families, the albums on coffee tables, the frames on mantelpieces and the photographs shared with future generations that matter to me the most.

Over the years I have worked with so many venues across Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. Knowing a venue can be useful (however, not essential), but what makes each wedding individual is always the people and the relationships at the centre of it.
Wherever you are in your planning, whether you have just got engaged or already have your venue and a few suppliers in place, it is completely normal to feel a mixture of excitement and occasional overwhelm as there is so much choice. There are a lot of decisions to make and it takes time to bring everything together. It includes practical information and gentle suggestions drawn from years of experience on wedding days.
